Two dozen of the best bars in San Francisco are taking part in San Francisco’s Cocktail Week. This event follows World Cocktail Day, which was celebrated on Sunday, who knew? I guess the PR folks forgot to tell us.
Each bar is featuring one classic and one original cocktail all week. The list of bars is impressive, with the likes of Jaredinere, Tres Agaves, and Elixr making such delights as the Sidecar, Manhattan and Mint Julep. The event celebrates the rich cocktail tradition of the city and highlights the use of local ingredients that are used to create truly unique and amazing cocktails.
Cocktail Week culminates on Monday May 21st with a swank party at Absinthe Brasserie & Bar one of SF’s top places for gourmet cocktails. The event will also benefit Tales of the Cocktail, a an organization, which benefits the history of the cocktail and assists in the revitalization of New Orleans’ hospitality industry.
