Sake cocktails are delightful! This one uses fresh pear juice and dry vermouth for a late-winter twist on the Martini.

Sake has a lower alcohol than spirits, so we mixed up a huge batch without fear of overdoing it. It was a blast, so I highly recommend you get going on this tonight!

I have a juicer, so I juice some Bosc pears for this. However, you can also blend them and then strain through a fine-mesh sieve or use pear nectar from the store. Store-bought nectar is a less subtle and a little stickier tasting, but will still work. Each cocktail uses about a half pear’s worth of juice.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz sake
  • 1 1/2 oz pear juice
  • 1/4 dry vermouth

Instructions

In a cocktail shaker, combine the sake, pear juice, and dry vermouth. Shake thoroughly with ice. Strain the drink into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of pear if desired.
