It is cold, so why not warm up with a fun tea based cocktail. Created by based Christopher Coccagna a Certified Tea Specialist from the Specialty Tea Institute of America! In 2010, he began his journey of crafting and blending artisan teas and tisanes which led to the formation of T-WE TEA. His company aims to spread its message of finding beauty in all natural, flavor-additive free tea. Coccagna’s goal is to push the envelope of the contemporary American tea concept. He created this drink for the Got Milk folks. (officially the California Milk Advisory Board).
Ingredients
- Prepared Vanilla Mint Cambric, without honey (recipe below)
- 3 tablespoons hot cocoa powder
- 2 oz. Tequila
- 1 oz. Peppermint schnapps
- Whipped cream, garnish (optional)
- Peppermint sticks, garnish (optional)
Instructions
Add cocoa powder and stir into prepared Vanilla Mint Cambric (in lieu of honey). Add 2 ounces of tequila and 1 ounce of Peppermint Schnapps. Top with whipped cream and a peppermint stick, if desired.
Vanilla Mint Cambric
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons loose spearmint/peppermint tisane
- 1/2 inch piece vanilla bean or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups whole milk
- 2 tablespoons honey
Preparation
In a small pot, add milk and heat on medium heat until almost at boiling, stirring often. Add tisane herbal blend to a tea infuser (or large tea bag filter) and submerge into milk. Add vanilla.
Lower temperature and simmer for 20 minutes (simmer longer for stronger herbal flavor), stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in honey.
