Most of us have the day off tomorrow to honor our first president’s birthday. He was a whiskey distiller as well as a president, so we know he liked a nice drink. We’re garnishing with a cocktail cherry as a nod to the cherry tree he supposedly chopped down and then couldn’t lie about.

Here’s a cocktail to celebrate Presidents Day in style!

Ingredients

• 1 ½ oz dry vermouth
• 1 oz brandy
• ¼ oz simple syrup
• 1 dash Angostura bitters

Instructions

In a mixing glass with ice, stir all ingredients together. Strain into a rocks glass and serve with ice. Garnish with a cherry if desired.
