Aside from being delicious, cocktails can also be hilarious.
Eric Felten wrote an interesting piece for the Wall Street Journal about great comedy moments involving cocktails.
From Daffy Duck’s “Drip-Along Daffy” to Homer Simpson inventions such as “The Flaming Homer” (aka “The Flaming Moe”), the cocktail holds a special place in the comedy world.
He recounts a particularly hilarious cocktail featured in the original “Nutty Professor” film:
He demonstrates his bad-boy bona-fides by grabbing the bartender and demanding an Alaskan Polar Bear Heater, which he specifies to the stumped barman: two shots of vodka, a little rum, bitters, a smidgen of vinegar, a shot of vermouth, a shot of gin, a shot of Scotch, a little brandy, lemon peel, orange peel, cherry, and some more Scotch.
