The original Margarita was invented in 1948 by socialite Margarita Sames. According to the legend, it was during a party at her cliff side hacienda in Acapulco that Margarita began experimenting with “the drink.” Looking for something to cut the dust of a hot afternoon, she mixed Tequila Herradura, Cointreau and fresh lime juice. Her cocktail kept the party going for two weeks and today the Margarita is the #1 most popular cocktail in the U.S.

Traditional Margarita
Take a cocktail or rocks glass and rub the lime wedge around the rim, dip rim in the salt.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz Tequila
- ½ oz Triple Sec
- 1 oz Lime Juice or Sweet & Sour
- Bar Salt
- Lime squeeze
Instructions
In a shaker with ice combine tequila, triple sec, & lime juice. Shake well a strain into the cocktail glass.
On the Rocks: Fill a salted bucket glass with ice. Build this ‘Maggie’ right in the glass.
Mad about Margarita
Ingredients
- 1 oz Cabo Wabo reposado tequila
- 1 oz triple sec
- 1 oz Cointreau
- 1 oz Southern Comfort
- 1 oz pineapple juice
Instructions
Add crushed ice. Pour into a margarita glass and garnish with a lime.
Spicy Sangrita
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz Cabo Wabo blanco tequila
- 2 ½ oz pepper mix*
Lime wedge or whole red pepper for garnish
Instructions
Combine the Cabo Wabo Tequila and pepper mix with ice into a cocktail shaker. Roll the contents from one shaker into another five times, then strain into a chilled margarita glass and garnish with lime or red pepper.
*To make pepper mix, combine 3 parts tomato juice, 1 part fresh sour and 1 part red pepper puree. Add Habanero Tabasco sauce to taste.
