We love Halloween and this years celebration was no exception. There maybe no better time of year other than perhaps Valentine’s Day to be a little bit kinky. I mean when else can you dress up like a Bavarian beer wench or a stripper and no-one even bats an eyelash. In fact, you could almost say that it’s expected. Speaking of kinky and dressing up, Kinky Liqueur has paired with Kinky Boots, a Broadway bound play involving Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein that debuted in Chicago. The play is based on the English movie Kinky Boots. It’s about a man who inherits a barely alfoat family shoe business. To keep the business alive, the man turns to making footwear that is a bit on the risky side or perhaps even kinky. If you are in Chicago or New York, take in the play. (get tickets here) If you are nowhere close to those two cities or prefer cinema to theater, track down Kinky Boots!
Here are our tasting notes for Kinky Liqueur:
Appearance: slightly cloudy, pale cotton candy pink with viscous legs
Nose: clean with medium, fruity aromas of blood red oranges, tangerines, passion fruit, mango
Palate: sweet, smooth alcohol, medium notes of blood red oranges, candied orange peel, tangerine juice, mango juice, mango and passonfruit with a medium, sweet finish of orange pixie sticks
Rating: Good. Kinky is vodka infused with blood orange, mango and passion fruit. Unless you are a huge fan of sweet, I wouldn’t recommend drinking Kinky straight or on the rocks. But, it went great with mixers.
