Created by mixologist Ryan Goodspeed of Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink in Miami, Florida, the Maker’s Heart is the perfect cocktail for your whiskey-drinking Valentine. This cocktail combines the spicy notes of Maker’s 46 with the sweetness of fresh berries and pomegranate juice. Throw is some vermouth and lemon juice and you’re all set. Not as traditional as a box of chocolates, but much more fun! More Valentine’s Day Cocktails.

Ingredients
- 3 blackberries
- 1 oz POM 100% pomegranate juice
- ¼ oz lemon juice
- 2 oz Maker’s 46
- ¾ oz sweet vermouth (preferably Carpano Antica)
- 1 oz simple syrup
- Dash of orange bitters
Instructions
In a mixing glass combine blackberries, pomegranate juice and lemon juice. Muddle. Add ice and remaining ingredients. Shake and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with an orange peel. Rim with navel orange-zested sugar.*
*For sugar rim, take one oz of plain white sugar and zest it with four peels of orange.
