This drink has enjoyed over a century of popularity. It was created at the Big Brass Rail, a bar in the Waldorf Hotel (before the Astoria Wing was built). The Waldorf-Astoria later moved uptown and the Empire State Building now stands in its place.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz gin
- ½ oz sweet vermouth
- ½ oz dry vermouth
- 2 oz orange juice
- Dash angostura bitters
- Orange slice for garnish
Instructions
Combine ingredients (except the orange slice) together in a shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass, or over ice in an old fashioned glass.
